I have 2 Motorola T7100 radios, they are 22 channels GMRS/FRS,

They have a scan option on them and if you scan through it will pick up the CTCSS/PL codes when in scan mode.

I was scanning and i founf this channel:

channel 20 code 15 or

462.6750 pl 110.9

i identified it as an Ambulance service, i get it good in wallingford, but i get it better from Universal Dr, in North Haven.

I am unsure of what Service may operate on it, i am just wondering why they chose GMRS channels to Operate on?....

Can anyone tell me if this is coming from the North haven/Wallingford Area?
and what Company it is?

Just a thought. Go to cityfreq.com / find your state & city / look under 462.675. My book shows that as a REPEATER GMRS freq. so it would be higher power that the simplex ones. Good luck.

Now think about it, REALLY. HOW COULD AN AMBULANCE SERVICE REALLY BE ON GMRS?????? Do you really think they CHOOSE to operate on it? The answer is no, because they CAN'T!

how did you identify it as an ambulance service?
do you think that an emergency service provider would be using GMRS equipment to provice emergency communications?
why didn't you just look it up on the FCC website?
or cityfreq like eyes00only suggested?
or fordyce.org?

I believe that is the Ansonia Rescue Medical Service. At one point i think there was a license listed for them with that frequency, but the ones on the database now are for different frequencies.

I figured it was an ambulance servive because they dispatched ambulances and medics off the frequency all weekend,
As soon as i charged the radios and put them into scan, i picked it up, and they where Toned out for a Motor Vehical accident,
i get them pretty Strong up here in wallingford, i do not know why they are on channel 20 of GMRS with a pl of 110.9 either?
if anyone gets the chance and has a GMRS/FRS radio in the Wallingford/North haven area, please charck it out and correct me if i am wrong

It infact is "ARMS" Ansonia Rescue and medical service...

462.675 - Ansonia Rescue & Medical Services

i looked on www.fordyce.org
and i found it in the EMS/Hospital Frequencies,

why would they be using GMRS?

I located them licensed on:
WPVV806
ANSONIA RESCUE MEDICAL SERVICE
22 W. MAIN ST., NEW HAVEN, ANSONIA, CT
(203)734-5171
461.450
466.450
Eligibility
90.35A1 - EMERGENCY MEDICAL SVCS.
OFFICIAL COMMS.

Many businesses are still using GMRS channels
which they are grandfathered on. In southern Calif.
you can hear tow companies, hotels, and construction
companies still using GMRS channels. Some companies
that were previously licensed on GMRS will still use them
even w/o a license. There is ample evidence of that all
over southern Calif.

I eas thinking that as well....because i looked in the T7100 Manual and the Input is 462.6750 and the out is 462.6750...but the PL is 110.9 for the RX End...i would belive that their Repeater is 467.6750...so therefor no one will Run over them is they used channel 20 of GMRS....

Picked up a bunch of FRS/GMRS radios to use when we do our shows. Communications for camera people, director, me, and the audio guy. Guess when we do the show on 11/27 in Seymour (to benefit Seymour EMS) I should stay away from channel 20 (and yes Ansonia still uses it). Ah, show - what show? you can find out more by checking out www.instudiotv.cjb.net (ok shameless plug I know but I couldn't resist and I knew someone would ask)

Nothing beats the Nevada Highway Patrol putting up a VHF trunking system with out licensing any of it and just pulling frequencies from a hat and using them... including railroad channels.

Did they get knocked by the FCC big time for that one?...and did they interfer with users of the channels they picked out?
