This site is somewhere in central Texas - maybe Williamson or north Travis Counties.

WACN BEE00
SysID 1A7
Site 1-96
NAC 1A0

No peers.

Phase 2 capable.

774.06875 backup control channel
774.29375 active control channel

I'll submit this to the database once I know a firm location - unless someone beats me to it.

Site on Wheels possibly? I know they used to have one, it deployed to Palo Pinto County during the 2011 wildfires and was networked into the rest of the system.

Bust out a scanner and get us some talk groups!

Could be a site on wheels, but why would they bring in a single site TxWARN system to the Austin area? Jade Helm is the only thing I can think of that is going on around here right now. Does the National Guard have radios on TxWARN?

I talked with some Jade Helm folks here in Bastrop... They said that some of the OPS moved out in to the Hill Country area, west of Austin. So, perhaps there is a SOW moving around for interop purposes. Sounds like there's more to it.

I did hear quite a bit of P25 traffic that was encrypted. Definitely something worth keeping tabs on.

I have seen no traffic on this site. It looks like it isn't completely set up. Don't use it to set your watch.

I'm not sure how or what you're monitoring, but I heard intermittent clear and secure traffic earlier today.

Could be things are moving around.

Is the site wide-area or in site trunking?

Hi Kevin;

It's behaving like an island - no peers. I don't see any errors other than the "maybe" on the synchronization broadcast message.

Note: I've checked in a few minutes at a time - days apart, and mostly in the evening - to look for activity.

I'm not in front of my computer right now, so I don't have the TGs handy that I've heard activity on, but some in the clear and some in AES.

Ok guys - Put your history caps on. Think 2008-ish. TxDOT @ 183/620. I heard a rumor that someone in TxDOT's Houston radio shop *may* have bought a 6-pack for the Austin area last summer before he took a different job... I heard he felt bad that the Austin area lost the 6-pack they were so close to having in wide area at the time... and I also heard that the data circuit is being planned out now, so it'll probably be in site trunking for a little bit...

but that's all rumor, hearsay, and conjecture...

Just for sh*ts and giggles, I'll drive by the Lake Creek and Bull Creek offices.

Wow it sounds like TxDOT really is getting serious about joining the 21st century... I wonder about all those references to SCHLOWBAND in the DB? Is that some kind of zombie apocalypse backup thing or what?
