Give it a try again at a later time. Sometimes, the servers are down for maintenance. Which cable are you using? Is it the Uniden cable that comes with the scanner? Some cables will not work for firmware updates. If another cable, please post a link to the cable.
Or you have Internet issues or DNS issues...

Or just use the software from uniden. I have proscan but use the uniden software to update my 325. Easy pease.
Huh? He's trying to update the FW and using the Uniden updater as that's the only way to accomplish it.

Thought he was trying to update through freescan.
This is the cable I bought. Off Amazon. May be the issue. Didn't get a cable when I bought it used. Like I said, works fine for programming with Freescan. As far as day and time to try, I've tried it at least a half dozen times in a two month period since I bought the radio.

To summarize: The OP Is using BC-VUP to update the firmware on BCD325P2. This fails. He notes that he is able to use Freescan to program with Radio Reference just fine.

Who is your internet service provider? There are several problems with providers. T-Mobile blocks FTP ports and HughesNet has high latency.
This is why it is massively stupid how Uniden made the update process. Before you could download the firmware update. Now you need an interaction with a stupid application.
It's especially annoying to have to use the update application in a car. You either better make sure your home Wi-Fi reaches or you use a tethered cellphone with your laptop. And not all cell phone providers allow tethering. To those that use such a provider I pity your soul.

He didn't write his post particularly well, but he said that he used Freescan to program the scanner without issue. I think he was just trying to say that the computer could communicate with the scanner.
Back to the OP. I had a problem with my ISP blocking the port used download the firmware. I ended up using the hotspot on my phone to perform the firmware update.

Okay, you got me. I didn't know that was possible. Not that it really matters because for the SDS200 in my truck I just pop out the SD card load the firmware onto it and start up the scanner.
That's what I was referring to...
Anyone know if Uniden actually uses a checksum to verify the download before writing? If you have a bad Internet connection that could pose a problem. Bad firmware flash and radio goes kaput.
