Update on Austin/Mower County Digital transition

Basically we have a plan in place to update radio equipment on the 14th Street Northwest water tower, but the city doesn't want the tower left unpainted if equipment and new paint can’t be completed before winter for fear of rusting. That could push the project back to early next year.

The dog and pony show Austin and Mower Co in general have created is very entertaining to say the least. Just a few years ago they invested a significant amount of tax dollars in a "new" radio system, despite an overwhelming majority of the state already in the end planning stages for ARMER and many already live. And here they are the last county being dragged kicking and screaming, and it's come down to a can of Rustoleum and some steel wool.

Martin County was nearly the same way... The local bureaucrats need to look important at what was basically a state decision.
