OK, probably the stupidest question ever asked on here. But could I use a discone antenna, like the one linked below, indoors?

https://www.bearcatwarehouse.com/accessories/antennas/bnc-scanner-base-station-antenna.html

I know I would get reduced reception, but for living in an apartment, I have a small space on the corner of the apartment (thin wood/stucco wall and old single pane window), only one story ,that I could fit this in.

If not, what is the best bet for the best indoor antenna that would be comparable to the above?

Thanks for any help.

Depends on what kind of siding is on your house... And don't use the 50 ft of rg 58 that comes with it...

Not really a discone, more of a groundplane antenna. Just don't poke your eye out....... put some caps on the gp elements.

You can use anything inside. The performance will depend on the surrounding materials.

I've heard good things about that model, but never had one myself.
