I have used a 396T for years and am thinking of finally upgrading to an XT or P2 version scanner.

I know the newer models program a little differently when it comes to multiple sites of a system.
Currently I have to duplicate all talkgroups for each site I create and I know the new models can go about it differently by programming mutiple site and only programming the talkgroups once.

I have attached a Freescan file and have made a program for Tennessee's statewide TACN system.
What I made isn't the true frequencies and talkgroups are also made up
but here is a link to the actual TACN listing if you need to look at it.

I am just asking for anyone to look and see if I would be programming multiple sites correctly.
If not please tell me what I would be doing incorrectly.
Thanks

The 396T was the only scanner in the x96 line where only 1 site is allowed per system, I believe.

There are ways of getting around that. One could program multiple systems and use the same system quick key. Or a variation is to assign system quick keys by region, turning on only the appropriate SQK for a given region. For talkgroups, it's a case of copying and pasting from one system to another, to another.

Fortunately the way trunked scanning works, one could have "distant" talkgroups (such as Nashville) in the "Memphis" system. Unlike conventional scanning where the scanner samples each channel for activity, in trunked scanning only the control channel is being monitored for activity on a talkgroup in "the list". So there is no disadvantage to having what would be considered extraneous talkgroups for a system.
