I am trying to figure out how to work PlaySets on my 668 but it doesn't seem to be working.

This is going to be slightly confusing due to the names.

My understanding on PlaySets:
You can assign a block of PlayLists to a PlaySet then enable the PlaySET to enable scanning of that block of PlayLists.

I have PlaySet 1 set for my custom programmed frequencies and I want PlaySet 2 to be the pre-definded PlayLists (i.e. Law Enforcement, Fire Tac, Police Tac, Police Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, Military, Air, HAM, etc).

So I enabled the 160 range of pre definded playlists in PlaySet 2, then enabled PlaySet 1 and 2, but it isn't scanning any of the PlayLists that I have enabled in PlaySet 2.

Could anyone please help clarify what I am doing wrong or misunderstanding?

Remember that Playsets control PlayLists. Therefore the first step is to make sure all PlayList are enabled. Then you include the PlayLists in your PlaySets. for example -

You have PlayLists
1 Fire
2 Police
3 State Police
4 ODOT
5 Hospitals
6 Transit Buses

All of these should be set to Enabled.

Now you want to listen to these PlayLists Using PlaySets. For Example you want to Listen to Play List 1 Fire and PlayList 5 Hospitals. You create a PlaySet 1 and call it FD-Hosp. Then you link PlayList 1 and PlayList 5 to PlaySet 1 and turn off all other PlaySets.

Also you can enable several different Playsets at the same time. For instance create PlaySet 2 which includes PlayList 3 and 4. Now you can enable Playset 1 and 2 at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.

John

Thank you for going into the detail on that.
It actually helped me find out what the issue was.

I found out my problem was that I had all playLISTS added to playSET 1, so when I added playSET 2, it didn't make a difference.

All of PlaySET 2's playLISTS were already enabled with PlaySET 1.

Now it's set up like this and it works!:

PlaySET 1:

PlayLIST 1
PlayLIST 2
PlayLIST 3
PlayLIST 4

PlaySET 2:

PlayLIST 151
PlayLIST 152
PlayLIST 153
PlayLIST 154
PlayLIST 155

I feel like an idiot for not seeing that.
Thank you for your help.

Your welcome. Glad it helped you see your issue. I struggled with the ScanSet (PSR800) for awhile when it was first introduced. All part of the fun of the hobby when the lightbulb goes on.
