Is there a list of frequencies the UHP uses outside of the UCAN system, namely along I-70? I have been unable to find anything on this site other than UCAN information for Utah. Thank you for any help.

I searched this database and listed all frequencies in say Emery County (Green River) and got >>>this list<<<. So if you search by county you will get the outlying areas that the UCAN (per se) isn't there yet. But in the case of Green River, I doubt they will go off of 15xMhz because trying to cover that expanse with 800Mhz would require about TWICE as many towers! :shock:

Thank you for your reply! However, I'm somewhat confused on how you found that list. When I go to Emery Co. it says there is no information and then when I go to the master FCC list on the bottom of the page it lists a bunch of frequencies. I'm sorry if I'm missing something simple here! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went to the DataBase, clicked on Utah then in the county listings I clicked on Emery County. At the bottom of the page and just before the leagle-eze and copyright stuff is this last entry:

FCC Data Options
Display All FCC Licenses in Emery County (Slow)

I clicked on the Display All FCC link and got to a page with all the frequencies listed. >>>Like this<<<

I then went down the list and found a listing for Utah, STATE OF". Then looked for a "FB" Fixed Base. And then finally in "Green River". Like the one below:
UTAH, STATE OF WNMH641 155.50500 1 0 FB 20K0F3E PW GREEN RIVER

I clicked on the callsign "WNMH641" and got to the page you asked about.

Did you just use trial and error to find one that was law enforcement? Also, if I might, what do the columns Mob, Pag, and CODE mean? For instance, you said you looked for a fixed base (FB). What sets that apart from a FX1, FX2, or FB2? Sorry for all my questions but I'm relatively new to this hobby and so far it has been a blast learning all this new stuff that I never knew was out there. Thanks again!

Sortof. In the listing for Emery County, I knew that UHP was going to be a State agency so that narrows the list of what to pick right of the bat. Then by selecting a site that doesn't move ie FB indicating that it is a tower site. From there it is a quest and part of the fun of scanning.

Well truthfully I too am relatively new to this and know only what I need so far. But here goes:
Mob: How many mobile units are associated to the callsign/site.
Pag: Don't know, yet. Maybe someone will jump in and shed some light.
CODE: This is the type of station ie fixed base.
FXx: Not sure.
FB2: Don't know the details but from reviewing the DB most of these are input or site to site freqs and are only listenable if you are very near the tower.

Does anyone have a break down as to where the posts/districts are located?
Also, which posts cover what area?

We have a submission that just lists a bunch of frequencies with their respective locations. But, how does UHP break down? Is it Districts, then, posts?

Any help is appreciated.

I do not believe there is any definitive list for the UHP to be found anywhere on the internet. Your best bet is to monitor all VHF-high PW
designated frequencies as you travel the rural highways of Utah. That includes 150.995-151.13. Don't assume them to always be UDOT. UHP does use them. Email me if you need my pro-92 .spg file, or a .txt dump of it. garym10@comcast.net

The State of Utah holds licenses in Salina Canyon on 151.025, 151.085, 151.145, 153.815, 155.31, and 155.595. I believe Sevier Sheriff to be operating on 155.67, Salina PD on 155.79, and Salina Fire on 154.13.

Keep in mind that operation is only suspected. These should not be included on any list or database until activity is confirmed, and the exact user has been positively identified.

What I'm asking for is how UHP breaks down their coverage, physically. Do they have districts which have several posts/barraks? How is it broke down? Right now I'm not worrying about frequencies.

Section 1 covers: Box Elder, Cache and Rich Counties.
Section 2 covers: Weber County
Section 3 covers: Davis County
Section 4 covers: Salt Lake County
Section 5 covers: Duchesne and Uintah Counties
Section 6 covers: Utah and Juab Counties
Section 7 covers: Morgan, Summit abd Wasatch Counties
Section 8 covers: Tooele County
Section 9 covers: Carbon, Emery, Grand, East portions of Wayne, Garfield and Kane counties and well as San Juan county.
Section 10 covers: Sanpete, Sevier, Piute, west portions of Wayne, Garfield and Kane counties.
Section 11 covers: Millard, Beaver, Iron and Washington counties.

Price Dispatch Freqeuncies

Good Day:

Price is the State Dispatch for the area from the top of Salina Canyon to the Colorado State Line.

154.920 is the repeater on Cedar Mountain (Near Green River)
154.830 is the Bald Mtn Repeater near Moab.
Also if you get off I-70 155.655 has two repeaters - Abajo Peak w of Montecello, and Ford Ridge NW of Helper.


I-70 in Salina Canyon to I-15 is Richfield Dispatch.
155.310 Near Salina
155.595 near Richfield on Monroe Peak
154.680 on Barney Top, near Bryce Canyon National Park.
155.700 on Teasdale Mountain

I'm about ready to take a drive from Nevada to Moab via Salt Lake on the way in and via 70-50 (Scipio) on the way out.

If you were to program a scanner for the trip listening to UHP, would you program UCAN moto control channels and the AND the hi-band UHP as well?

I noticed that the counties I'd be driving through with the exception of Grand County are all supposedly covered by UCAN.

-Grand County is the only non-UCAN county. Course with Eastern Utah being an awful lot like Nevada with miles and miles of no civilization I can imagine that the UHP is still operating hi-band.

Anyone have a ARC246 or any csv file of the area I could borrow from. Plus I can report back with what I hear for potential inclusion into the Utah DB.
