Yes, but each have a TG in STARS.

Bote has a 996XT, why interrupt good trunking with conventional (often relayed tac) frequencies?

I would much rather listen to a good clean, strong conventional channel as compared to all that digital garp half of which is unreadible....I listen to STARTS also but conventional rules. Enjoy it while you can...

154.695 Alive and well in valley drug investigations 66@81

On a related note, is it a safe assumption that ALL of the old VHF frequencies are no longer used anywhere in the state?

I'm visiting family in Northern Virginia and touching up my STARS programming in my 996XT and figure I might as well revisit the conventional freqs.

If VSP no longer uses even the 154.665 tactical frequency, then I might as well delete that whole conventional system out of the scanner. I'm gonna miss it, though. :-(

Thanks.

I have been listening to drug related traffic on my old BC 300 analog from berryville, winchester and Stephen City VA as well as I heard a chopper believed to be in warren county guiding ground units to marauana grows some 12 feet high. i heard the chopper but no ground units as i have been hearing for all of last week in Stephens City about 8 air miles away. also 158.985 sometimes but only mobiles also in analog might be simulcast cause i can hear the same mobiles as well as culpeper base on my PRO 96

I heard Fairfax, Culpeper, Appomattox, and Salem conventional repeaters on Monday as I sailed down US 29 through C-ville, Lynchburg, and Danville. They were usually on the weak side and I'm guessing they only left on a single repeater on each channel, whereas before they had numerous sites to fill in.

The trunked system sounded pretty darn good on my 996XT, although since I'm not familiar with the troop boundaries I could no longer rely on the weakening signal strength to decide when I had moved to another patrol area. I just left all of them on my route enabled and listened to it all; they weren't very busy as the night grew later, anyway. I did hear about a FedEx truck on fire somewhere, so I hope your package wasn't on that truck.

Nelson and Buckingham Counties have pulled up over 11,000 pot plants in recent days. Street value in the 10's of millions! Probably from those same helicopter operations, it is that time of year for the annual ritual.

Wow. I wonder how much the counties are getting for it on the black market. Cash-strapped local governments and all that, you know.
