The ValleyCom site is working fine here in Redmond. The active control channel is 868.4250.

Hi,

My father has a PRO 164 scanner and he mainly listens to the Auburn PD radio traffic. Around a month ago, he noticed he was no longer able to receive any Auburn or other valley agency traffic. I am trying to help him with his radio, but I don't know much about scanners.

I am able to use Win97 and I pulled the info from his scanner. I have the file here to download: SmallFiles - Free File Hosting

Can someone please take a look at the file any maybe help me with the Auburn and other valleycom frequencies?

Thank you!

I myself don't have the program to view your file. However I can offer this suggestion. Make sure that one of the listed control channels is 868.4250. That is the current active control channel for the ValleyComm site. If not, add it and the scanner should be good to go.

Here is what I have:

I added a new "Alpha Tag" with 868.4250. I am hearing traffic on what sounds like Auburn's Primary, however the radio traffic is coming under "Alt 1"?

Did ValleyCom recently make some changes?

Any help would be appreciated.

It appears that adding the updated control channel helped you start receiving again. Please be aware that there are 4 control channels and they can jump at anytime. The 851.8125 was the primary at one time but that has changed to the 868.425 which you now have. There are two other control channels you should program your scanner for just in case they jump.

As for the talk groups, TG 36848 (your ALT1) is for Algona/Pacific PD dispatch. That is why you are hearing traffic on that channel.

You have 28400 is listed as "Auburn PD Tac" but it is listed in the database as being the Snoqualmie PD Tac 2 channel. I am not familiar with or listen to that particular area so perhaps those other talk groups are shared between the entities and why you have them labeled as such.

The DB might be of help to you here: Seattle-King County Public Safety Trunking System, Seattle, Washington - Scanner Frequencies

Hope this helps you.

Uncheck the delay the on control channels and lock out the channels not being used. and as said enter all control channels. if you want email me your win97 file I will look it over clean it up and send it back.

Ok just sent you, my worked over file, yours needed some work for sure.
It should be up and running fine with the file, I sent you, I kept everything the same just did a lot of locking out and putting in the control channels for your area. I put in King County/ValleyCom Simulcast and EPSCA Simulcast, if anyone thinks they need more please let me know and I will send them a updated file.
