Sorry, I don't make it over to Paulding County too often, otherwise I would figure out the LCNs, if that is what you are asking.

Me Sarcastic? I'm a retired cop theres not a sarcastic thought left in my mind.. :)

Nah, just that cynicism; after 25 years in public safety myself, I know all about that....

I pointed out that I tried boost on the tower Just to see if it had any effect on the audio from the CC

Nice thought, and no harm in trying, but that's not what boost does. All it does is make the voice transmissions louder.

867.7500 - A

Still no app filed for this site.

857.0625 isn't being used tonight. I'm getting the 3 voice frequencies busy message in Trunk88. All the other freqs are still good.

I can think of a few MARCS sites within listening range that seem to have a "minimal" channel lineup - but then after x # of busy messages, suddenly an additional frequency appears to be activated.

So it may just take a certain trigger to "activate" another channel in the system.

I have been running TRUNK88 on the Middle Point site since last night and the 857.0625 frequency has not shown up eventhough the site has been throwing out the all three trunk busy message all day long.

Here is what I can suggest at this point:

1. If 857.0625 really isn't a voice channel, no harm no foul. The scanner just wont' use it. In fact, most people are going to be running in CC-only mode anyway and simply adding the primary and alternate control channels.

2. I don't want to be stepping on Warren's toes by yanking what he submitted, and I don't want to step on your toes by not removing 857.0625 on your word.

Rather, I'd ask that Warren run a pristine copy of Trunk88 / UT / whatever he is using from a separate directory, which has never monitored any other system or any other site on MARCS except for Middle Point. Then he can report back what he finds. Sounds like Warren may have gotten some bad data. That can happen with weak sigs or by quickly umping from control channel to control channel.

The bottom line is an Ohio Admin isn't directly monitoring Middle Point and is counting on you guys. So once you two figure out which is right and which is not right, we'll go from there.

Also, maybe because this site has jus recently been put online, things may be changing? I don't know.

But I won't personally change anything on the site pending Warren's findings from running a fresh trunker instance.

You can safely delete the 857.0625 from the Middle Point list. I did as you suggested and ran a new copy of Trunk88 in a separate directory. 857.0625 did not show up.

I looked at the CTL file and found the same frequency listed for the Paulding site. Since the freq is no good for Middle Point, it is likely incorrect for Paulding. I don't use Trunk88 often, so I don't know how or where this frequency came from.

I am line-of-site to the Middle Point tower, so weak signal certainly wasn't an issue. All of the frequencies I found for the site (except for the erroneous one) were uncovered by just listening to the scanners.

I will be overly cautious before submitting again, since bad information benefits no one. Sorry to have caused a problem.

Thank you,Warren. I will go ahead and remove the 857 freq. I see things like this arise if I'm monitoring two separate zones (such as 6F0F and 6F10). Inevitably at some point I get data from one that ends up finding its way into places it shouldn't. Wonder if you are monitoring sites from multiple zones in your location? If so,that may have been the culprit.

No, the PSR-500 was designed to utilize 700 MHz trunking. The reason tables were needed for the rebanded frequencies is the scanner wasn't designed with rebanding in mind and tables were needed to get the scanner to understand what channels (frequencies) it was being told to switch to by the control channel.

Project 25 Systems can send rebanding info.

Just an FYI: You don't have to enter rebanding tables for MARCS-IP because it's a Project 25 Trunking System.

Project 25 Trunking Systems are capable of sending the rebanding information over the control channels. MARCS has chosen to use that capability to send the table info.

The older MARCS Moto Type II system does not have that capability. So you have to add the table info to your scanner.

In Cuyahoga County where I live there are three Project 25 systems. Two on 800 Mhz and one on 700 Mhz. Each has it's own table settings. I use a PSR-500 and have not had to enter any rebanding information for those systems. If I do a download from my scanner to WIN500 I can see the settings that each (P25) system added.
