If you are referencing the Virginia Search and Rescue database page, those frequencies are not the only ones used during SAR Ops. You might try monitoring the frequencies on these database pages also, if you aren't already doing so,

If you are referencing the VA STARS Trunked Radio System, then you would want to monitor a nearby tower, and listen for the desired talkgroups on that TRS.

If you are referencing the Virginia Airborne Search and Rescue Squad, then I don't think there is a database-page specifically for them. You might try the information on the Virginia: Medevac page.

Hope this helps,

Thank you I meant the VA STARS trunked system. I haven't heard them in awhile now just wondering why

If I remember correctly, in some of the older threads, other members have indicated that STARS tower-coverage in the SW section of the state is still not optimal, and that in some areas troopers are still, or have reverted to, using the "old" frequencies, listed in the VSP database page. If you aren't already, you might try monitoring the one(s) appropriate for your area, also. Also, make sure you are monitoring the correct/closest STARS tower site. Some new ones have been added in the past several months.

Hope this helps,

Wytheville STARS is definitely active. What site are you listening to?
