Vehicle Mount/Holder

Looks for a good solid holder/mount to secure my Pro 651 to in the truck
Vent Or Cup holder type preferred but am open to options
As long as it doesn't wear the finish off the scanner or clunk and flop around...
All I can find are cheap china cell phone holder types?

Ram brand is the best i have used. Window or fixed my have other mounts.

I don't smoke so I just cut a slot in the ashtray right behind the face with a Dremel tool. Then I removed the barbs from a spare belt clip and put that on my 651 (also works for PSR-800 type units, which use the same clip). Pull the tray out slightly, drop the radio in place, push the tray back until it squeezes the belt clip and there it sits. Can be quickly removed to put in the console to get it out of sight when parking. If there are no obstructions around the tray in your pickup -- provided you're a nonsmoker -- this may be an option. If I couldn't have done it that way I'd most likely have used a RAM mount, they seem to be the best. But I'm a tightwad and this way cost $0.00 so it was what I did. Just offering an option.:wink:

Thanks for the responses. I think I found one. Not ideal. But it should work OK. On amazon. I tried a few of the big guys websites and I didn't see any that would accommodate my 651?

I ended up selling the 651 because it's reception was so poor. But the mount I went with was Macally MCUP Adjustable Automobile Cup Holder for iPhone, iPod, Smartphones, MP3 and GPS-Black. Amazon. It's well built. Solid.

I kept the 996xt. Always my solid performer. It goes from house to vehicle daily lol
