If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Verify Firmware Version on Non-Display XPR7350e?

How does one verify firmware version on a XPR7350e non-display unit?

I have some XPR7350e at work that were programmed years ago, around 2016 to 2018, right when the CPS to CPS2 migration (nightmare) was occurring.

I have CPS v16 and it says "Need to upgrade CPS" ( or something like it).

I am waiting (2 weeks!) for Motorola to get me commercial access so I can use CPS2, so I do not yet have use of CPS2.

I would have thought these were programmed back in 2017 and were done with CPS1, but I found old .ctb files that date from July 2016 and show one radio as:

Radio FW: R02.60.03
codeplug version: 10.01.14
Bootloader: R2.60.01

Boy, Motorola made this way too confusing!

Thoughts? Help?

This doesn't resolve your issue, but once I got the proper procedure to get MOTOTRBO CPS it took around 24 hours to get access to it (assuming you already have an account)...

"Hello good afternoon,

We have received your case regarding MOTOTRBO CPS. This software is ordered through the shop website.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Login to shop.motorolasolutions.com using your email.

2. Search for HKVN4362A

3. Click "add to cart"

4. Place an order for the item referenced above.

After placing the order there will be an order processing time and then you will receive an email notifying you that the item is ready for download. You will be able to download the TRBO CPS on MyView (myview.motorolasolutions.com). We have verified that you already have access to MyView. Please note, HKVN4362A is a $0 order."

Yes, if only it was that easy ...

More info: The tag on the XPR7350e has "VER: R02.10.001" so I think that is only CPS2 firmware?

This might make sense, as the s/n starts with 807TWK... so this looks like a date code of May 2020, which seems to matches the firmware. Looks like this might be a second batch of radios purchased later ...

Yes, if R02.10.001 is on the factory label, that is how it left the factory & it would be locked in on CPS 2

Earlier firmware on the label would indicate a likelihood that it's still good with CPS 16, but not a guarantee since someone could have 'upgraded' to a firmware past R02.09.01 or written a codeplug with CPS 2
