Cross-posted from the original SNE thread here: Vermont trip June 3-5 - Scan New England
A few notes from a trip to Putney this weekend:
SP Westminster Barracks 3-frequency multi-cast 453.825 (Streeter Hill in Chesterfield, NH), 453.300 (Mt Snow) and 460.475 (Mt Ascutney) all 162.2 Hz. Royalton Barracks 453.1625 156.7 Hz off Mt Ascutney (this barracks is multi-cast on 2 other repeaters but I only monitored Ascutney. I didn't hear the Shaftsbury Barracks 460.275 186.2 Hz off Mt Snow; surprising since I could hear the Westminster freq. from the same site. I also didn't hear any Troopers on VLAW-31 or VLAW-32 but I'm not really that surprised since these are simplex frequencies.
Windham County Sheriff- when I last monitored them in 2019 they were using 460.450 in P25 mode with NAC 380. I had my scanner in NAC search and only heard a brief, weak P25 transmission on 460.450 that I couldn't get a NAC for. Nothing heard on this frequency with their old analog 103.5 Hz, or on their licensed VHF frequencies of 155.505 and 159.420. 453.050 also had a single weak P25 transmission that was possibly NAC 325...? Windham County also has 461.600 licensed on Stratton Mtn but nothing heard from this frequency either. Is it possible that the Sheriff only works weekdays and the State Police patrols on weekends? I heard Troopers responding to MVAs in Dummerston and Marlboro but I think it's strange I didn't hear a single Sheriff''s Department call all weekend.
460.100 MHz- I copied P25 encrypted traffic on this freq. with a NAC of 231. We at SNE have this frequency and NAC in the Wiki as Woodstock PD dual mode with 118.8 Hz, but I find it much more likely to be Bellows Falls PD who is licensed for this frequency and is only two towns north of Putney where I heard this with a scanner and just a portable antenna, instead of another town 45 miles away. It has been said on the RR forums that Bellows Falls is P25 encrypted on 460.100 so this supports my opinion.
I didn't copy Dover PD on the listed 453.725/136.5 Hz but I didn't get that close to town.
Windsor County Sheriff was heard on the Ascutney 453.325/85.4 Hz repeater.
Brattleboro PD (460.200/$117 clear), FD (155.0325/123.0 Hz), and Rescue Inc (155.160/136.5 Hz) all repeaters heard as listed.
VT Fish & Game was heard on the Ascutney 159.405/D115 repeater.
453.8375/79.7 Hz- SWNF/KCF415 licensed for a cross-band repeater in East Dover but I only heard brief key-ups so I'm not comfortable as adding it to the SNE wiki as confirmed.
