A 6 meter ham radio yagi antenna mounted vertically, or a 6 meter vertical might work. 6 meters is 50-54, so if your target station is a LOT lower...i.e. in the 30s, you would want to 10 meter yagi, and shorten each element to match the frequency in question....Or just put up a coaxial dipole cut for the frequency you want, and see if it works before spending any real money.

I'll second the suggestion by prcguy on the PVC coaxial dipole. 50 miles at VHF-Lo frequencies doesn't require directional or gain antennas plus that's the cheaper solution, too.
