If I can weigh in here as well.. (although it don't mean much)
I personally don't ever post chatter I hear on channels that have to do with VIP, surveillance, investigations, special channels, (while doing investigations, etc)
Than again, I have a background where I know not to post stuff heard like that in a public forum. (used to do some work for a certain agency within Canada, and I personally know it was very easy to accidentally switch off ENC- and there was no audible warning it had happened, only a tiny icon missing from the display) If I hear something really good, I keep it to myself, or if its something newsworthy, I'll post it to a "active incident" mailing group- If- and ONLY IF- it would not interfere with said active incident.
I guess the discrete is elite is the best saying. Keep the good stuff to yourself, or if it should be enc, don't relay it. What if someone posts something online that should of been encrypted, and something bad comes of it? I'm sure that person would be tracked down if the poop hit the fan. Something as simple as "VIP enroute to XXX location" could be very useful to bad guys, etc. (again, just a example...)
Anyways, I'll stop ranting now...
And hey, isn't there a law on the books stating you cannot retransmit what you heard over the airwaves....?
