Hello,
SDR wannabe here. I'm trying to decode a conventional VHF P25 channel, and DSD+ is actually producing a decent decode. Trouble is, I'm also hearing the analog motorboat sound of the digital signal. I believe the unwanted motorboat is coming from SDR#, as I continue to hear it after quitting DSD+. Something must not be set correctly, but I've tried everything I could think of to no avail. Currently I'm using VB Audio Cable, but I've used VAC as well. I'd sure appreciate any and all help to get this working. Below is the text output from DSD+, and I'm attaching several screen grabs of my settings. Let me know if there's something else I could post that would be helpful. Eventually I want to trunk track a P25 700 MHz system, but baby steps first!

System is HP Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop, 2009 vintage, Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.2 GHz, 4 GB of RAM.

I was wondering why DSD+ would assume you're using FMP when clearly you're not. I think it's the -rv flag you've specified. It means this DSD+ is the voice half of a dual DSD+ trunking setup (where the voice side has to use FMP), but you're not doing that. I've found that when you use -rv, DSD+ won't decode any control channel information for any protocol, so you're limiting your ability to analyze signals. Of course, because you're using -f1, DSD+ will only decode P25 signals and 1.101 doesn't understand P25 control channels, so no big deal. Still, I wouldn't use -rv if FMP isn't the signal source.

You are using the wrong version of DSDPlus if you want to use SDRSharp, you want DSDPlus 1.74. The version you are using ( DSD+ 1.101) requires you to use FMP which comes with DSD+ !.101.

Unclick "Listen to this device"

^ Yes this worked. I had seen a couple SDR videos where that box was checked, so I did as well. But clearly that was the problem. Thank you!

Now I just have to figure out how to use the various DSD+ tweaks to improve my decode, and get trunking to work. With a little luck I should get there by 2017!

Thanks again & hope everyone has a good Christmas!

Any flat audio source works. I've used SDR# and tapped scanners with 1.101. There's no requirement to use FMP unless you're trunk tracking. I wouldn't recommend using older versions unless you want fewer features and less system information...

Your right of course, I was using my shortcut instead of DSD.exe duh.

So, I take it DSD+ 1.101 can not be used with Unitrunker for trunk tracking? That was going to be my next step toward tracking a P25 system, as I have some familiarity with Unitrunker.

Thanks!
