• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Update: I have just completed a replacement project for a dead SentiVoice and one dying with the SA951 product from 911 Systems.

Can't say enough good things about the product, service, and ease of installation.

Sounds great! Can you expand a bit on your integration of the SA951 in place of the Zetron?
Did you need custom firmware or were you able to use it out of the box?
Were you able to do 2 announcements per input? (open and closed state)
How many inputs did you use and is 4 the max?
Did you use two-tone paging or any other alert formats to TX out?
How did you set up the voice announcements?

Have more questions, but very interested!

  1. Yes, Brian created Custom Firmware, but the changes were very minor, according to him.
  2. Yes, there are two announcements per relay: On Close and On Open.
  3. We use two Relays currently, although plans are to use three or four, depending on the next version of the wxLine Lightning Detectors. Brian also set a Virtual Relay so that when all relays are clear it sends a fifth voice message ("All Clear").
  4. No, this application is IO-based only, sending Voice files out on MOTOTRBO Talk Groups through an XPR-5580e.
  5. I created them on AWS Poly and gave Brian the files; he placed them on a micro-SD inside the unit.
Contact Brian, he is great to work with.

Good to know that you had a positive experience with Brian. Still trying to wrangle up a job so I can sell one of these. That way I can play with it hands on.

If anyone wants to know all the ins and outs there is a You Tube that has programming the device from top to bottom.

Do you happen to have a youtube video on how to program the 1516? I have one that is working, but I do not understand how to get another audio file into it. I have gotten the RS232 to login to it through putty, but I don't know how to hear the audio or record a new voice to the channel.
