I no longer own a transceiver of any kind, but my friend says that multiple 2m repeaters are being taken offline, because nobody wants to pay for something that is unused.
This could be a whole `nother discussion. How much of the blame is the repeater owners themselves? For not yacking it up on their own machine?

The closest repeater to me has six owners/trustees. Don't hear them throw their call out on the way to work. Or on the way home. Don't monitor their own machine because when someone throws their call out, none of them answer. Most don't carry a handheld. Half don't have a radio in their car. But they will let you know it cost money to maintain a repeater.

I say all that to say this:
If you owned a repeater, would you make every effort to keep it hopping, especially if you wanted a little financial help? Would you be carrying a handheld as much as you do your phone? Would you make an effort to answer anyone that throws their call out? Would you be throwing your call out on a regular basis? Would you and your fellow trustees discuss things on your repeater, instead of text, email, Discord, phone calls, etc?
