I see a new tower just topped out at STH 120 and I-43. FCC ASR indicates it's likely part of the new system.

Thank you for sharing this as well as the FCC ASR link.

Doing a search for Walworth County looks like at least seven (7) sites with fairly recent filing activity [within past 12 months]:
Burlington
Darien
East Troy
Elkhorn
Genoa City
Walworth
Whitewater

Most, if not all of the towers are up, some have antennas and microwave horns. No idea about installed radio equipment. I had a conversation a while back with someone in the know, and it seems most of the system will not be encrypted.

However, that can change, or may have already changed, a lady on Facebook likes to post everything that she hears on the scanner and that might be the final nails in the coffin.

As of today I am getting the control channel on 772.40625 but no radio traffic yet, I submitted the info that I saw on my SDS100 so it can be added to the database, I did know someone in the know and all law enforcement are suppose to be 100% Encrypted with fire and other services unencrypted

That really isn't surprising, is it? Times have changed in Walworth County.

I am hearing the same thing on 772.40625, didn't hear it yesterday.
Yes times are changing and with the evolution of technology the days of listening to P25 radio systems will become obsolete once Link Layer Encryption (LLE) standard is finalized and implemented on both P25 trunked and P25 conventional radio systems the control channel packets will be encrypted

This isn't much of a surprise. I can see the security behind it.

All towers are up and running. It's a 700mhz simulcast system not 800mhz. Also I've been hearing testing on one talkgroup so far. Unconfirmed reports are that LEO will be encrypted full time, FD/EMS will be open communications. Also been told that it's still in the extreme early phases of testing and several departments haven't been issued or trained on their radio equipment yet.
