The mitigation part has been installed for over 6 months at least. I bought two SDS200 scanners. Both had the mitigation fix and both had the hum from day one. The first was bought from Walmart and was sent back due to a popping noise out of the speaker at the beginning and end of every transmission. I asked Scanner Master if they had newer stock. They said they did. I ended up buying from them and the unit I received had a serial number that was 350 below the one from Walmart. I ended up doing the real fix for the hum problem.
You know I kept my mouth shut before because I didn't want this to turn into yet another hum thread, they are not necessary anymore, it's a non discussion.
If you have hum or not it appears as it doesn't matter if it was made in 2019 or 2020 or if the mitigation device is installed or not, it's a roll of the dice that has become a moot point now because of...
...the permanent fix, then it doesn't even matter whether or not you have the mitigation device or not, it's a moot point, you can remove it if you want.
I have a feeling if nothing changes in production it won't make any difference with the new models shipped out.
I guess I got lucky! So you can be fairly certain you are getting one from a new batch now!
Yes sir you did, in more ways than one
