154.37 DMR sounds absolutely awful. No matter who is talking, one appears to hear a ton of background noise on every transmission. I suppose it may sound better between two Kenwood DMR radios, but I have never heard anything so awful (DMR never sounds great) in a DMR transmission than the stuff for Weirton Fire.

I can't imagine what it might sound like in the heat of battle, inside a working structure fire, etc.

As a comparison, the school buses on the Lauttamus T3 sound 20x or more better than Weirton Fire DMR. The Kenwood DMR radios themselves must have some sort of processing that takes out the background noise. If they don't, I can't imagine a single fire personnel thinking that the current DMR setup they have is passable / usable.

Even the Weirton PD DMR (Kenwood again) sounds much better than Weirton Fire DMR.

Is there anyone constantly monitoring the Weirton DMR? I would like to add it to my Rdio Scanner software with an API Key if anyone work be interested in working together. I unfortunately am to far away to receive it!
