That makes sense, because I couldn't receive it on the Uniden 536. I didn't know they were encrypted. Thank you.

They were using their secondary channel for the first few weeks but now they’re back on their primary channel 470.3625 also p25 enc nac 568

Is it safe to assume that West New York's Emergency Medical Service is now also encrypted, since they operated on Police 1? If so, I'm wondering how interops with ALS is handled now.

Yes ems is dispatched by the Pd and therefore are encrypted. The od thing is I noticed the officers are still using their old radios which are xts1500 and 2500 so I think they just reprogrammed them to p25 mode and unfortunately encrypted. I’m just curious what type of encryption algorithm they’re using. The ems guys and gals are using apx portables I believe.

probably adp. easy to implement on motorola units and locks out scanner listeners.
