Thumbs Up...

Too bad there isn't a Like button on individual post to hit, so I give a Thumbs Up to All..
If I show the Wife all this, I think she will ask if I lost me mind, we all know 1 or 2 just isn't enough..
I want a home base next with an out side antenna ,, I know , head over to the Antenna section for that Info..

Hey PhotoGuy.....I just put up the DPD OmniX and what an improvement over other antennas I have used.
But the smartest, best thing I did was buy the Stridsberg multicoupler, so there is just one cable outside and the three scanners, with room for one more, are fed by one cable! IT works brilliantly!!!!

Took this photo when I was reading the thread the other day and got distracted. Have four XTL5000s (UHF2/UHF2/VHF/700-800) on speaker trays under my computer for local monitoring.

Mine came from Odyssey. It's a basic 8U slanted rack, very well built, and can be had for under $100. Because I have a fondness for the racks I used back in my music days, I chose a carpeted model, but that is nothing but a personal choice.

The panels are from my friends at Novaexcomm in Torrance CA, and have standard DIN openings. I liked the look better than the ones that use Havis/Jotto faceplates, again my preference only.

Deciding if I am going to leave the handles on the panels or not, they do sort of remind me of the old receivers I had back in my SWL days.

Basement listening post. The radios sit on industrial surplus steel shelving. I make changes often and this setup affords easy access to the back of the radios.

So are the radios / vintage bag phones in the display cases just for looks or do you use some of the radios at times?

Everything gets used except the vintage phones :) I use a handheld most days so I rotate their usage

Here is my listening station.. But I have my BCT15, BCT15X monitoring public safety, BCT8 monitoring 2-meter ham, and a Radio Shack Pro-2051 serving as an APRS I-Gate.
