Hey folks. Michigan resident here. I'm starting to make the trip between the homestead and Chicago pretty often, and am wondering what would be a good strategy for the Indiana section of I-94 between Mich. and Illinois. For the InSP along the route, are they using Safe-T (I assume yes), and if so, what would be the towers I'd need to monitor? I'm assuming the Pinola tower in LaPorte, and whatever is listed for Porter and Lake Counties. Am I on the right track?

Also would like to know what freqs the "Hoosier Helpers" use. Nice to know where the breakdowns are at.

Thanks for any help you can lend.

You are right on! Hoosier Helpers is also on SAFE-T in that area. Just look for the NW TMC (Traffic Management Center) TG in the INDOT TG's in the RR DB

Plugging in the TGs for ISP D21 (Toll Road) and D13 (Lowell) will get you the troops. I think, if I recall correctly, D13 Zone 1, and 2 are assigned to Northern Lake Co and Porter Co covering I94.

Returned from a trip today, and things worked like a charm! Only thing is, I tend to be lazy and don't do a lot of TG programming, so I heard a lot of everything on my trip!

There happened to be a lot of blowing lake effect snow when I began my trip (Thursday), leaving South Bend headed west on Rte. 2, so I was getting a lot of snow plow action (TGs in the 9000s). It's amazing how much busier SAFE-T is than MPSCS is, but a lot of that has to do with population density, miles of interstate, and proximity to Chicago, I think. You got your State Police, both in the regular districts as well as the Toll Road. Then the InDOT and County, and on and on.

Michigan's just a little quieter, at least on this side of the state.

Thanks for the info and support, and kudos to RR for just being RR!
