Currently, Woodford County EMS is dispatching and testing their units (vehicles and handhelds) on P25 mode with NAC of F61. So far, they are in the clear for both dispatching and testing units. The frequency is the same as when they were on NXDN --- 155.1075

And yes, this information has been submitted.

So they were NXDN and switched to P25? Why would they do that, with NXDN being a newer technology/format?

And are you guys saying that even fire and EMS is now encrypted?

Just going out on a limb here and saying probably because to be grant compliant, you can't use NXDN. Analog or P25 is what is required for nearly all grants for radio equipment. P25 is the APCO standard. NXDN gained popularity in Kentucky a decade or so ago because of a few Kenwood dealers pushing it extremely hard due to it being digital and it's built in "encryption" (reality is that it is just 15 bit digital scrambling), however it put these counties on an island for interoperability.

The Versailles City Fire Department has moved from their old frequency of 154.445 (NXDN9600) to a new frequency and system type.

The new frequency is 154.1825 - it P25 with a NAC F72 and the FCC License is WPUL728. So far, everything is in the clear, but the system appears to have encryption capability but not being used at this time.

It has been submitted to get the change to the database and that has already happened!!
