Above are freqs for I'm guessing Bridge City? You will hear N.O., JP, St B. etc here
For some reason this site gives the most trouble for monitoring. Mostly choppy transmissions or id's showing but no voice. Sometimes it works better than other times.
My directional antenna is pointing right at this site with the signal strength meter showing a 5, but for some reason Laplace will come in more consistently.
Hope this info helps. Good Luck!
The site you are referencing here is actually a simulcast system. I think there are about 35 frequencies assigned (I can dig up if ya'll need.) There are, I think, 4 sites that comprise the master simulcast system for New Orleans and the eastbank and immediate westbank of JP.
The reason for the poor "reception" is due to the advanced simulcast modulation needed to make it all work out... Search for CQPSK and find many others like us that suffer. Pro-96 handles better than Uniden for now.
Best advice -->>> Point that directional antenna AWAY from any transmitter! That has worked out well for me. Actually, this is a very fun, but very annoying, twist to listening to the radio. Takes a lot of work, but the goal is to receive the lowest # of transmitter signals into the radio as possible, but withing transmitter range.
For example, someone in Slidell, or even SW Mississippi, would receive the NO East site, but lower chance of the other 3.
Someone in Laplace may do better as well, as you would still be within the farthest west site.
Unfortunately, in the city, it is tough. The Pro-96/2096 attenuator seems to be a bit too much sometimes. Takes some real work.
Again, this only applies to the simulcast system on LATIE network 2, with site ID 201.
Other agencies, Troopers, or NG that affiliate with any TG on a non-simulcast site (which I have not seen yet besides in NO), will allow you listening enjoyment.
Also, this simulcast site... and the entire network 2... is in addition to the Statewide LATIE system that is in place in New Orleans as well...
