I cannot find it anywhere in the Ingham county or Michigan railroad database. I frequently hear what sounds like simplex base/mobile CSX stuff, sounds like dispatchers and trains talking. I'm not a rail expert by any means and can't be much more specific than that. Sounds kind of casual. Anyone know what it is more specifically? No FCC licenses found for the frequency in the county. I believe I have heard them mention Lansing and Jackson, and I have picked this up with the mobile radio in my car mostly in northwest Ingham county.

Don't restrict your search to County Lines.

Yes - CSX is licensed for multiple Tower sites, and likely the Mobile license is a nationwide out of Corp.

Sweet! Thank you. I’ll listen some more and add it as a submission. Didn’t want to do a radius search, because those tend to bug out and fail more than countywide searches.
I find a statewide works well, for me when searching vs adding in the County, unless it is a rather large sized county (FL, TX, CA)
then use the windows browser for "find"

Thanks. It just seems to hang and/or fail a lot when I do it. Either generic error screen or nothing found, then I run it a few more times and eventually there will be results. Doesn’t help that my internet is not very good.

Does anyone know would this be a road frequency, yard, etc? I’m thinking road but not an expert by any means.

Only being a hobbyist as well, guessing with that many Towers in the licenses across a good section of licenses, it's some Road use
Not being from the area, see if they map out along a specific line/branch

160.320, which is AAR channel 014, is used by CSX as a "dispatcher" channel in many places here in Ohio. That said, it could be used for something else in your area. Dispatchers do show up on the road channel, but mostly just to contact a train crew and have them move to the dispatcher channel for an extended conversation. Dispatchers on CSX identify with a two-letter code. For instance, one of the dispatchers that covers my area is "LF" and I will often hear him/her say something like "CSX LF dispatcher Jacksonville" on the radio. Making note of this code, if heard, can help you nail down what you're listening to as google should provide information about that dispatcher's area of responsibility.

Thank you both. That’s some very useful info. I’ll have my car on that channel the next few days and the scanner in my apartment as well.
