what is NALEMARS?

I keep seeing frequencies with NALEMARS listed as the description. what does this acronym stand for?

thanksfor the info. I also so some freqs for 800 Mgz MARS shannels. I was was pretty sure it wasn't the MARS that hams and the armed forces use. I'm guessing these area also Mutual aid channels

The common nationwide NALEMARs frequency is 155.475. In theory, every state should reserve this frequency for nationwide interoperability but that's not universal in the whole US. The unoffical but common NALEMARS for UHF is 460.025 and 39.46 for low band. For 800 mHz, the common frequencies are 868.5125 and 866.2000. These are even less adhered to then the "official" frequency of 155.475 but at least it's a start.

They are also adding in the new SNFM for 155.4750,... The most common MA Freqs are listed on the common freqs page on this site....

Here are a couple that are still out there, but rarely used....

154.1600 MA Fire
45.8800 MA Fire Lo Band

The MA stuff for each state varies, as you will find that a MA for one state, is a common dispatch for another, examples:
155.3400 HEARN Usually ER Common/Med Control Common (This used to be the Primary Nationwide ER freq)
155.3700 Law Enforcement
155.4900 Law Enforcement
155.0100 Law Enforcement

Here are a couple that are still out there, but rarely used....

154.1600 MA Fire
45.8800 MA Fire Lo Band

That would be 154.265, 154.28 & 154.295 for fire MA

154.1600 is used in a few states as a MA,.. and 45.8800 is the old Lo Band Fire MA...

For example in MS.. Statewide Fire MA-

45.8800 was abandoned only a couple of years ago and is still liscensed to a few towns, though most have given it to DPW and such. The reason 45.8800 was in use was because the primary statewide EMA/CD radio system was Lo Band-

45.9600
46.0000
46.0400
These are still in use by local CD/EMA's, though the State EMA is now on sat radio.
