What is the latest Pro 164 firmware update before rebanding became an issue?

I have a Pro 164 and the issue I have is no trunking and squelch issues in trunked bands. After researching this...it would appear that as more people see issues with trunking in this scanner...i have found that if you unplug the unit while in operation without turning it off first.. and then turn it back on...in many cases the scanner will flush the firmware program causing the bands to show an X over the numbers during scan.

IMHO...the solution must be to back out of firmware updates down to a more stable version. I have not tried any specific version...but unless you have everything programmed and are not entering the freqs manually this could be a real problem. Would a power outage cause the same issue under the right circumstances?

So my question is...what firmware version is the highest you should go to keep this issue under control? I have found 2 other members that have had this issue but didn't find an answer...so my hypothesis is just a guess. Anyone see this?
The symptom is: An X is flashing over the band numbers during scanning and the search band numbers as well...no squelch action and trunking does not seem to work although the band has been set to trunking function.

It sounds like you might even be able to correct the situation by re-programming the present f/w version. What you describe sounds like it could be h/w (RAM failure) or perhaps program memory error.

What I would do is park the radio on the active control channel frequency of the trunked system. Try different modes (FM, MOT, etc.) to see different stats on the display. If you are getting a strong signal and good decode rate, make sure you set the BANK to the type of trunking system you are trying to monitor.

Here is the latest firmware version. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Use the updater app which matches your boot version.

Yes I tried that. The control channel has no control signal noise...but will show talk group numbers. Nothing is saved however in any of the talk group IDs. LTR will save talk groups. Even the conventional channels will not come in. My CPU version is 1.07 Search mode works..but there is a flashing X over the group numbers. I'm thinking reprogramming the f/w version may be the solution.
