The frequ is 464.2500 PL 203.5. They are a fire reporting service. They cruise around and monitor the scanner...then they report the info on their frequ...very cool service...pretty strong signal too.
Enjoy!!

They monitor fires via scanner, and sometimes respond to take photos ... they relay thier information via an alphanumeric pager service that you can subscribe to. This is a popular thing across the nation for fire buffs. This link may provide you the information you want at Philly Metro Radio.

I hear metro radio on 451.9 in Delaware County, PA.

It sounds like a coordinated fire incident reporting/re-broadcast network.

A must have frequency!

That would be "Delaware Valley Metro Radio", same type of organization and coverage area but different folks. They tend to be more regularly active than Philly Metro but I think they are both keepers in my opinion.

I've heard incident broadcasts from other counties as well on their frequency. Didn't mean it was Delco only.

I have also plugged in Philly's metro radio.

Thanks,

Andy

Dear Fred,

The information you are requesting regarding Philadelphia Fire Department's North and South Analog are conventional, analog, simplex frequencies. They are not talkgroups. These frequencies indeed are low power and can only be heard from a limited distance from the fire grounds.

These frequencies are as follows:
North Analog - 866.0750
South Analog - 866.7125

You may be referring to the Tactical channels, which is digital, trunked, and encrypted with DES-OFB. These talkgroups are encryption "strapped" - no matter whether the rocker switch is on the on or off position. You can find these talkgroups in the Database section of RadioReference.com.

I hope I have been assistance to your inquiry and if you should require further, please do not hesitate to contact me on the forums or directly.

Delaware Valley Metro Radio System

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to weigh in real quick. I am a member of Delaware Valley Metro Radio System. We do indeed operate on 451.9000, and in the near future we will be looking to expand our coverage up New Jersey and reach into Southwestern Connecticut. We have strong ties with 1st Responder Wireless news, and most of our members also are members with either 1st Responder or BNN. I am a member of 1st Responder, and my reporter number is PA370.

We have members from almost the entire Delaware Valley from Bucks, Montgomery and Philly in PA, and from Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties in NJ. We are always looking for new members, so by all means, if interested, visit our site and shoot us off an e-mail. We usually try to get together on Saturdays to eat and buff.

Phila Metro Radio is the other radio group here, and a little less active. They only have a couple active members in Bucks and Delaware counties, and 1 member in Gloucester county NJ. I know a couple members from their group, and they like putting out less jobs. They tend to stick to multiple alarm fires.
