Wow that looks like something I've seen in the dentist office, looking at the SUV the hubcaps are not consistent with a government vehicle but I guess that really doesn't matter, also is there a plate available? Looks like the device is covering it up maybe.

I am sure someone here is going to know exactly what it is, it is curious.

I see them at the NC Seafood Festival. They're news vans. The dish folds open and they can broadcast a live feed via satellite to the TV station in Raleigh to cover the Blue Marlin Tournament live.

The plate appears to have been mounted on the vertical mast, and masked out.

I am used to seeing them mounted to full size vans, not soccer mom SUVs.

The rear suspension could use some help.

Those are the Rohde & Schwarz direction finding antennas mentioned above. That doesn't look like the typical FED vehicle and it would be nice to see the license plate to try and pin down the owner.
