In the desert someplace
I know they had got 30 of them at HRO in Burbank and they sold out in 3 days. I got mine at the one in Anaheim, the last one they had three weeks ago. Just keep checking the webiste everyday they will get more in and act fast when you see it in.

That's how I got mine in Phoenix. I just kept checking the website daily because you never know when it will change. I had checked on a Wednesday and there was nothing, but I checked again Thursday and they were in-stock.

I just contacted Phil at Monitor Long Island He has been posting on their facebook page that he has LOTS of BOTH the BCD436HP and BCD536HP scanners in stock. The website is monitorlongisland.com and you can fill out the form or call them directly to place the order. There is no online shopping cart on the website.

Hey everyone - I'm new to the forum and this is my first post, so I figured I'd start with seconding this post from Sandy since I stumbled upon the thread while looking for a 436 for myself. I spoke with Phil from Monitor Long Island on Friday. Seemed like a really nice person and offered to update and program the scanner for me so it arrived ready to go. I haven't received it yet (should have it today), but he did mention he has a few more 436 and 536 models available if anyone is interested.

Anyways, I've spend the past month or so creeping around the board trying to learn what I can about my area (Cleveland, OH suburb) and finally joined since making my scanner purchase. This looks like a great community!

"That's gotta burn some of the "haters"..........."

Why do you label folks who have serious questions about expensive products and their well-documented shortcomings as "haters?"

Just spent some time on Amazon reviewing comments relative to the 536.....

Apparently many "Haters" there as well, especially regarding the 536. Seems that those folks are less biased toward Uniden, and more concerned about good product quality for their $600.00 investment.

If folks HATE spending $600.00 for an item not yet ready for prime time, than I guess your assessment is appropriate.

"Said they were supposed to get some this week but due to manufacture issues"

Huh...? That's comforting to know......

The issue, as Paul has said, is that they haven't been able to keep them in stock because they're so popular.

I have never seen so many rumors about a scanner before in my life. This scanner does things that no other radio in existence can do, and people are determined to seed rumors of it's demise.

Well, just for the record, I got mine two days ago from Phil at Monitor Long Island, and when I last spoke to him, he had 4 left and asked me to pass the info along, so I am.

Just gotta figure this thing out now, it's a little different than the SC150B I was using for nearly 20 years :)

And I will tell you that The apocalypse happens tomorrow.

I'm not sure if you're aware but just because you read it from some anonymous bloke on the Internet does not mean it's true.

you could trust the manufacture Who posted here and simply live with issue is they're out of stock right now and they're waiting to receive more

But that's insanity I know

I prefer to believe the apocalypses tomorrow I just read it on the Internet

Don't shoot the messenger here. I'm just relaying what I was told from Bearcat Warehouse. Whether or not there was any truth to what he said, I can't say. As someone else eluded to, the so called "manufacture issues" might be just the inability to keep up with demand, exactly as Upman had previously stated.

Don't let the hotheads get to you. You are indeed "just the messenger". People at various stages in the supply chain could very well be told different things based on whatever the next person in the chain decided to tell them. Maybe all they were told is "problem with manufacturer" ("problem" meaning "we need to manufacture more"). There are people here who are hell-bent on finding something to complain about and/or put people who disagree with them in a bad light, no matter how far-fetched the argument is. No amount of logic will sway them from their convictions that something disastrous has happened and is being covered up in a conspiracy.

You know what they say about the re-telling of stories. By the time they get passed around, they end up completely morphed. I imagine this is a perfect example - the Bearcat Warehouse guy is probably saying exactly what he thought he heard.

Upman is a whole lot higher up on the food chain of product delivery knowledge than these folks.

Why should anyone listen to UPMan when they can listen to numerous unknown individuals on the internet forums and spin everyone up and pass around information that smells of conspiracy, cover up an just general misinformation. It is far more interesting and you can just keep the cycle running as it feeds on its self doing things this way.

Would be too boring and mundane to actually listen and pay attention to the source.:D
