I'm having trouble finding the official Pro 94 thread...is it me...or is my scanner not popular?
Where's the Pro 94 thread?

The Pro-94 had enough features to make it popular, but its unpredictable RF performance kept it in the ho-hum category. I think that is the reason it never became very popular. It was overshadowed by the Pro-92 and BC245 which most people got instead.

Hi to all.
Does anyone have a problem w/ their Pro 94 in the trunk mode?
I do not get the trunking lines, instead, I get the frequencies and the channel numbers.
As for the talk groups, don't get 'em
I have nothing else programmed into the bank
I put the frequencies in the way i'm supposed to, and still not happening. :x
At least I can still hear everything, just no talk groups...... Bummer
Any one else with the same thing going on, or is it just me?

man i had that same problem for about six months where the talkgroups didnt work even lost a good friend over it. he didnt have the same scanner he had the bc245. well what you have to do is pick the systems 800 mhz or whatever. then type those dam frequencies and i wish someone helped me like i just helped you..... and another thing is why this pro 94 is not so good is because the buttons rub off easy my belt clip broke and the antenna gets wore out and theres nothing you can do after that dam warranty exspires and i just want you to know i take care of my electronics very well..... but these parts on it are crap............................................. :shock: better hope so

I never had any issues out of iether my 94, or 94 A,... both performed flawlessly. As far as antennas,.. the best thing to do is go ahead and buy the RS improved 800 MHz, or get an improved VHF,, the ones that taper like a real commercial grade ant. They are amazing!

well the thing with the anttena was that the ridges on the scanner started to ware about a year after i bought it........... and the antenna would woble and the reseption came in porly after that...... and about the talkgroups thing was you cant type the frequencies and then pick 800mhz it has to be 800mhz then frequencies and then press talkgroups................................ and with the belt clip it was at my hip and went to sit down it snaped and had to glue together :twisted: :evil: :twisted: ..........................................................
OK as to the BNC connector.. once it wears out, youll iether need to repace it yourself if your handy with a soldering iron and have patience, or send it in for replacement.... As to setting up trunking,.. its the same in all scanners..... you have to select the type of TRS (E2-800, E2-UHF, E2-VHF, E1, ED.) Then program in the freqs, then let it acquire the CC, then program in ID's. A nice trick on the Motorola Type II 800's is this.. if you can get any 800 Type II CC on anysystem thats near you-
Program all the freqs for the system you want no matter where that system is, plug in the CC thats near you... once you acuire the CC, you can load all the ID's for the other system in.... once you have it done, delete the local CC. It works also for EDACS too..... But for an UHF, or VHF system, you would need the actual systems near you.
