OK as to the BNC connector.. once it wears out, youll iether need to repace it yourself if your handy with a soldering iron and have patience, or send it in for replacement.... As to setting up trunking,.. its the same in all scanners..... you have to select the type of TRS (E2-800, E2-UHF, E2-VHF, E1, ED.) Then program in the freqs, then let it acquire the CC, then program in ID's. A nice trick on the Motorola Type II 800's is this.. if you can get any 800 Type II CC on anysystem thats near you-
Program all the freqs for the system you want no matter where that system is, plug in the CC thats near you... once you acuire the CC, you can load all the ID's for the other system in.... once you have it done, delete the local CC. It works also for EDACS too..... But for an UHF, or VHF system, you would need the actual systems near you.
