How does a listener know what he’s listening to? Is there a reference list in the iOS app somewhere?

Try checking the description of the feeds. Some are very informative while others list only basic information about what is being streamed. An example for the Yavapai County Public Safety feed is as follows:

While the feeds you referenced do not support it, many include alpha tags. You may already be aware of this feature, but alpha tags allow you to see what channel is being heard on the feed at any given moment. An example from one of my feeds:

What OP was asking is not about RIDs, but what agencies are included on a particular feed (some feeds cover more than 1 agency). You click on the left red button (in post 2) that says FEED DETAILS (not sure how to find it on ios app for Broadcastify, if that is the app).

Yes, I understand. Nothing in my response had anything to do with RIDs. I was also talking about how to determine which agencies are included on a feed. I mentioned both utilizing the feed description and alpha tags (if available) to do so.
