Whistler makes terrible low end laser/radar detectors with too many false alarms.

OK so lets play this game this way then....

The Federal Government makes sucky health care regulations and insurance policy set ups... SO therefore anything the Federal Government does will be sucky period. GMC is stupid in the way they do business by breaking the law of the land to stay in business. SO GMC pruducts must really be bad, and the company a dumb place to work. In my opinion, Chocolate ice cream is horrid. SO therefore ALL chocloate sucks canal water... Just applying your logic here.

We are not dealing with radar detectors here, we are dealing with scanners.
The current line up of scanners offered from Whistler are just re branded and slightly re cased GRE products! We know these products very well and they rock the socks off most other offerings!
What the next series that will be actually produced by Whistler will be like we can only guess at, but since they are using GRE's technology etc as the base line to go from, they can't really mess this up too badly.

Thank you for this, milf. Exactly. Let's think it through and compare apples to apples, folks. Otherwise we end up on the subject of what car to buy...

This may be true but the make the very best in inspection cameras. If thier scanners are as good or better than what GRE put out we are 2 steps ahead. They already made the product look better. I'd venture to guess thier production facility is nicer, better equiped and better managed than GRE's ever was. Point being, lets not pass judgement until these units are in the hands of actual users. I'll know right quick if the "PRO 651" dosen't work as good as a 106 because they will be pumping away in the same room.

wHEN these scanners get into the hands of scanner enthusiasts we will know for sure. It is just a matter of time. No rush I'll wait this one out.

Now THAT would be interesting. A scanner made in the U.S. I'm not holding my breath, though.

The Chinese government took their factory because of eminent domain. They'll likely make them here in the states now.

My guess is the " Chinese government took their factory because of eminent domain" was a cover story for what really happened.

I highly doubt they'll be made in the USA, that would probably double the price.

I don't THINK so

The "story" about the "Chinese government took their factory
because of eminent domain" is likely so much "who shot John"
To think that that was the only thing made in that factory is more then
a "stretch". .
MY guess, Whistler just contacted the same people that were
making the scanners for GRE to make them for Whistler.
But, then again, I know how the Chinese manufactures work.

IF you think that any factory over there makes just one product, you need to think again.
Look at "Golden one" radio, as well as "golden one, they also make Golden Spring, Wouxun,
TYT, Baofeng ,Baojie and a company that is actually called Professional Radio.

So to say the factory was "taken" for anything is a stretch.

Nice to see they are continuing the 106/500 line..There will be many relieved owners!..
Im eager to see if they repack the 800..Hoping they do,maybe an 800 with a full keypad..

Only beef..That Amber backlighting...Ugg...No Blue,,Green?...

Im willing to bet the PSR-800 and 900 are the two higher end scanners whatever the whistler numbers are!

Actually, their detectors are pretty good for the price. Granted, not as good as top of the line Redline, Max and Valentine 1, but for the price of say, the CR90, you can't get anything better from Escort, Cobra or otherwise.

Cheers.

Totally agree here. It would have been so easy (or so it seems) to have picked a better color than the horrid color used by these scanners. After years of experimenting with the BCD scanners, I have no doubt that (for me) Blue, Cyan, and Green are the best for viewing under the different conditions that I am subjected to. Amber is just not that great of a color for a scanner display. I wish that I could change the color on my BCT15X for the same reason, but for whatever reason, Uniden decided otherwise.

Does anybody know when these Whistler 1095 series might be starting to hit the shelves?

Thanks for the great pic. Looks like this unit will be a GEM too
