Win500: Win 500

Recently my computer crashed/died. The backup was corrupted, so I didn't attempt to load on the new comp.
I had Win 500 and the key which I had utilized on several occasions.
Now I have been trying to reinstall 500 and utilize that key. But the only option I can find is to purchase a new subscription.
Anyone have suggestions on how to reinstall from a previous sub or is a new one required?

Just curious when was the last time you were able to get a response from Starrsoft by email or by any other means?

He has dropped all customer support and hasn't responded to any attempts to communicate with him (email, snail mail, phone calls, forum messaging etc.) for a couple of years now, there are many posts and threads about that.

Install Win500, run it,... does the pop-up screen before the program starts allow you to input your key?

If not, when the program starts click on the "Help" tab at the top of the Win500 screen, does the drop-down box have "License Key" as a choice there?

When I downloaded years ago, I distinctly recall them emphasizing keeping the key. Hence, I tend to believe you are going to have to pay again.

I strongly suggest, if you buy another key, that you send yourself an email from Outlook, Google, etc. so that you can access it from another computer. This has saved me on several occasions, particularly when changing computers.

I hope this suggestion helps. Win500 is outstanding software. I threw Butel into the trash.

I'd be very cautious about sending any money to Starrsoft for Win500 registration keys (or for any other software they offer). There have been a number of instances reported by members here where they sent payment to Starrsoft for registration keys and never received them.

Many attempts were made by those folks to resolve the issue with Starrsoft to no avail (see post #3 above). They eventually had to file disputes with their payment systems to get their money back.

I had the same thing happen a while back, had no success. I have since been using PSREdit500 which is very similar to the WIN500 program for my Pro197.
