Ok have noticed several stories in the media , that may have provided opportunities to monitor ,....but with my schedule lately I haven't been able to catch much , so a reminder that , there always seems to be something going on ,....

Im not sure to what extent these events would have provided any monitoring ,....

A heads up for anyone planning to cross the border this weekend. The Windsor-Detroit Tunnel will be closed for two hours on Sunday morning. A training exercise will be taking place in the tunnel. All vehicular traffic will be halted from 8 AM to 10:15 AM. Also, the Transit Windsor Tunnel Bus will be suspended during that time. The first run will leave Windsor at 10:40 AM.

CN Police are out in force this week - protecting railway crossings in Windsor, Essex County and across Canada. The Rail police are watching at railway crossings, not just for safety at the crossings, but they can write tickets for all highway traffic act violations including speeding and seatbelt infractions. Constable Brady Arnold is stationed at the rail crossing on Lauzon Parkway north of Tecumseh Road today. He says in 2009 there were 256 grade-crossings and railway trespassing accidents in Canada. 71 were fatalities and there were 36 serious injuries.

7 people are charged after Windsor Police and the provincial anti-violence initiative executed 2 search warrants in Windsor, one at a commercial business on the North Service Road near Transit Windsor. High powered guns as well as 900 marijuana plants were seized. Police estimate the value at $550,000. 5 Windsor people are facing charges, along with 2 men from the GTA.

It would be nice to hear some of those Comms, the only one i caught the tail-end of was the Selfridge bird going down. As for canada Customs, the freq's I have for them, are nothing as i never hear any traffic on it, are they on the new P25 system? Or do they have a system of their own?

Well , Red Bull Air race is coming up , June 4th & 5th I think , I mostly listened to the tower to keep track of them last year , anyone get any of the actual race comms freqs confirmed?

Nice!!! Hopefully this year with the Airshow, they have more jets performing. Last years was great don't get me wrong, but not enough jets lol. Can't wait should be a fun weekend, especially, if all those jets show up, the ones that show "invited'. Awesome posting Forts, look forward to the show, must be nice thou to have a front row seat lol

Heads up for the good folks in Windsor. The downtown motown hoedown on Saturday 5/15, the schedule of events lists an Air Force flyover sometime between 5:10 and 6:15 pm. To narrow it down abit, there is a musical act at 5:10 and the next act is at 6:15 so I would guess maybe between 5:45 and 6:10 would be the flyover.

On the weekend while working out in the yard , I saw what I thought may be a red bull aircraft , turned on the radio & it appears to be Pete McLeod who I think is from windsor flying an Edge 540 , I think the registration was n185mp or similar also herd the call RB07 , I think one may have gone to detroit & Pete was up & down throughout the day , no aerobatics just a couple circles then off to the east , expect about a week before for more arrivals of raceplanes as well as sideshow performers , they will probably fly up & down the river as well as practice around the area partially to generate interest & media flights Id expect activity to increase on the air & marine bands shortly , If you go to the river for the practice or race there will probably be vintage warbird flypasts & military jets , the raceplanes themselves are very small & fast , your best pictures will come with a fast shutter speed & long lens.
I am still looking online for a an updated list of the raceplane registrations as they tend to go by these over the radio until about a week before when they are assigned calls such as RedBull 07

The wife took it at Dieppe Park in Windsor, free hand with a canon d10 IS 300mm lens. Did crop it slightly. Expected a second fly by, but they only did one and gpp10x was pretty spot on the timing. They went by right after the singing of the national anthem. Sound travels fairly well over the river. It was a nice to be in the park even if the picture hadn't turned out.

Red Bull event begining setup

Saw some huge containers arrive at the airport today via truck the kind they use on cargo ships about a dozen or so along with a crane to unload them , this will be the red bull logistics crews setting up
They have a pretty sophisticated setup thier own tower , media crews live video is shown on screens both downtown at the race as well as in the pitt areas at the airport , so they should be testing audio video & radio systems soon If your at the airport near the flying club side , might be a good time to try searching or close call & see what you can logg
of course you will hear them to & from the airport on 124.7
I think last year race control was 122.875?

Nice shot of the F-18's.
This was COWBOY 11 flight from Fort Worth TX. They departed Selfridge at 05:09pm. They did the flyby at 06:05pm. Landed back at Selfridge at 06:11pm. Then took a Limo to the Hoedown Downtown, & had a good time. Lead had the call sign of SPICE. Lead was from Michigan, because he knew a lot about the area.
258.700 A/A chatter. 1 & 2 flying formation, while # 3 was trying to take a picture of them flying over a house of a person they knew on Lake Saint Clair, SE of Selfridge. On the last pass they lit the burners over his house, 05:52pm. I was hanging around Selfridge watching them fly around, & listening to them talk on the A/A channel.
