On the weekend while working out in the yard , I saw what I thought may be a red bull aircraft , turned on the radio & it appears to be Pete McLeod who I think is from windsor flying an Edge 540 , I think the registration was n185mp or similar also herd the call RB07 , I think one may have gone to detroit & Pete was up & down throughout the day , no aerobatics just a couple circles then off to the east , expect about a week before for more arrivals of raceplanes as well as sideshow performers , they will probably fly up & down the river as well as practice around the area partially to generate interest & media flights Id expect activity to increase on the air & marine bands shortly , If you go to the river for the practice or race there will probably be vintage warbird flypasts & military jets , the raceplanes themselves are very small & fast , your best pictures will come with a fast shutter speed & long lens.
I am still looking online for a an updated list of the raceplane registrations as they tend to go by these over the radio until about a week before when they are assigned calls such as RedBull 07
