I have a question, I'm not quite sure of the solution to the problem so I thought I would seek some outside input, Maybe you guys will know.
Here in my county in Arkansas We have a LOT of rural area that isn't covered by cell coverage. I am a Storm Chaser for the county with the Emergency management office and the problem we have is Once we hit these areas we have to use radio or do without becuase of poor cell coverage. This also interferes with my mobile radar on my laptop. I run GRLevel 3 Software for radar while chasing, I have Sprint phone service and I can use my phone as a hotspot so I can connect my computer to my phone wirelessly, As long as I'm in an adequate cell area I am fine, However 90% of our storms come across the west half of the county to the Northeast side of the county which is ALL rural and cell service sucks, Now I have thought about switching to another provider but AT&T isn't any better, Verizon has pretty good coverage but the local TV station uses a data internet card on Verizon when they chase and they have the same problem with Verizon, Once you get in a rural area you can't get enough data coverage to carry radar data. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use for adequate rural data coverage to carry a laptop with radar while storm chasing? Any information would be helpful.
