Here's a couple pictures of my Logitech Squeezebox Radio playing my live feed.

That's a nice display. I may need to check that one out myself. I see it's on sale for $150 on the Best Buy ad in the Sunday paper.

Dave:

I am enjoying this new toy so much that I've decided to buy a second unit. It's like having a table top version of the entire RR live audio database at the push of a few buttons. Once you have entered in your favorite streams, the radio can even be remote controlled from the PC. Picture attached.

Gotta love technology :)

Why can't RR submit the live audio database as an APP? The entire structure would then be built into the menu. Now that would be cool.

I hope it doesn't fall of deaf ears. This should be in the Streaming / Broadcasting / Audio Recording forum.

Jobes:

That's exactly what I'm hoping this thread sparks with the RR management team ;-)

OK, I picked one up today. In comparison to the Grace model, the Squeezbox was not user friendly with my Wifi connection. I had to change security protocol on my Netgear interface to get it to connect, this was straight forward on the Grace model and did not require any changes, but after that it works great

I found the initial troubleshooting information in the radios help file buried in the setup menu. It wasn't in the supplied pamphlet and then I ended up at the support section of the MySqueezbox site.

I do like the display, sound, and apps. that are available for it. No iPod/iPhone "free" control app., however I did find three of them at $9.99 iPeng, $7.99 Squeemote, and $5.99 SqueezePod. The Grace also included the remote control and the iPod app is free. The remote and battery accessory is extra for the Squeezbox. Both are currently priced at ~$150.

I was able to do a quick search for "scan" and it came up with several live scanner feeds. I'm currently listening to the Chicago PD and it sounds as good as the scanner I have on with the locals in the background.

The Radioreference app idea would be awesome. I am impressed with the diversity of feeds and codecs available, not that you need much with a scanner feed, but it sounds great.

Any more great ideas NYRHKY94?

I finally took the bite and bough the squeezebox on Amazon. I can't believe this unit is sold out everywhere in NYC! None of the 7 Best Buys in the area have them.

Looking forward to some sleepless nights :D

Wow, once you get the Squeezbox set up, this is a great way to listen to the RR live feeds. This should be interesting tonight.

I've been "up late" listening to streams every night since I got my Squeezebox. I put the headphones on (per the wife's request) and then just lean over and hit one of the 6 preset buttons to my favorite RR streams. Love this thing so much I got a second one today for the downstairs shack. As you can see from the attached screen shot from the mysqueezebox.com portal, I've been busy copy & pasting in RR streams from around the country. Very cool addition to the hobby :)

P.S. Hopefully the RR team is keeping an eye on this thread and will look into a plug-in app that will integrate the RR streams into the squeezebox product line......

So, which one, between the Grace and Squeezebox, would you recommend to an old fart that doesn't like learning new stuff?

Hi all, i use the Nokia Internet Radio app on my Nokia N95 to stream my audio streams to it via radio reference. works quite well, use it on both wifi and the Telstra NextG network. i have my stream set up as a Nokia Radio Station but using that app you can just put a stream address into the 'manual set-up stream' and it will play.
cheers all

I found the Grace easier to setup and use, and it includes Reciva support. but the Squeezebox has a better display and can be expanded with plug-ins and 3rd party applets. The Radioreference live audio links will paste directly into the favorites on the Sqeezebox via the server software (a free download).
Look them up on YouTube.
