Do you live close to the park? I programmed all of the frequencies and nothing so far not even data bursts.

Greetings....

The system has been online since end of March. Do u mean there there are now users using the system?

Just making sure because there Is a second set of 8 frequencies that have been silent since being licensed a few months ago.

I have a list programed for digital with those frequencies. Haven't heard anything yet but I see the "NXDN" signature popping up. Perhaps I live too far from the park but the old system always came in perfectly. BTW, I heard nothing at all on the old system during GREEK FEST unless I just missed something.

Just a few questions to refresh my memory with NXDN. Is there any special order I need to program the frequencies in a special order similar to an LTR system? Do I need to enter the RAN numbers or can I just put in search on my 436HP for that section?

I have most of the frequencies programmed but I’m not sure I have all of them in logical tracking order. However, I have it in search and the WAPD patch is coming thru perfectly. Now, is this so called second system really just a bunch of extra frequencies or is it an entirely separate system. I’m almost tempted to combine them as one but I don’t know if that’s correct.

If you click on the site name in the database it will show you the LCN (logical Channel Numbers) I have an SDS100 and I created the system and site and put the frequencies of the old LTR system in and then put 0 in the LCN and went into analyze and then LCN finder and it figured out the LCN automatically in about 3 minutes but that was when Greek fest was going on but I believe there has to be a fair amount of radio traffic for it to work and the other frequencies will be a separate site

I heard TG 37. It appears to be a grounds/maintenance channel.
This new system comes in much clearer than the old LTR system.

There is a WAPD patch on the second system. It comes up as TG 9 as well. What is this second system going to be used for. Again why didn’t they just combine the frequencies into one system?

The WAPD & OA LAW CALL patches do sound better on the new system. I know that Digital to Digital patch generally will sound better than a Digital to Analog, but still.

Since both sites haven't been on the air at the same time, DSD is showing both as Site 1. Hopefully by fair time both will be on the air and showing their true colors.

The old analog system is gone. You have to remember that there are two new and separate NXDN systems. Look at the data base again and you will see that one is listed as "Youth Center" and the other one is "Raceway". I'm guessing that is where the transmitters for the respective systems are. I think they all use RAN #!. I programmed them as such and it works on both. As someone else pointed out, both systems aren't on the air at the same time. So you have to program both of them and put them in search to find the TG's. They both sound great and so far not much fair grounds traffic but the WAPD patch mostly. They must have 2 parallel systems for backup reasons otherwise you would think that they would have just combined the frequencies. Perhaps someone else could lend some perspective on this.

Most of this week, both NXDN systems have been on the air. The system listed as "Speedway" in the database is still showing Site 1. The site showing "Youth Center" is now showing Site 2 on DSDPlus.

I have heard sporadic traffic on TG 41, possibly related to the RV park area as I believe it's being used for people coming to the Harley-Davidson festivities this weekend. I also have heard testing type radio traffic earlier in the week on TG 51. That has been it.

Thanks Tim and I stand corrected. For some reason I thought it was speedway. Oh well. It will be interesting to see how it really works once the fair gets started.
