Dose anybody know if it is possible to hear woodford county ems to bluegrass hospital from Lexington I know it's FM but so far radio silence I don't know if it's a certain thing between WCEMS or just slow call volume thanks.

You’ll only hear them if a) they’re transporting to Bluegrass and b) you’re close enough. If you’re in Lexington, it’s unlikely you’ll hear them; I had trouble hearing them when visiting family in Woodford County.

I'm pretty sure the Lexington area hospitals retained their conventional systems so the surrounding counties could call in, as most of them probably do not have access to the Lexington/Fayette system, which is heavily encrypted. Last time I was monitoring in the area a few months ago, I heard what I think was a Jessamine EMS unit calling St Joe ER.

Lex FD medics do use the P25 system to call in, however.

There are two primary frequencies for Lexington MedCom reports (off of the LFUCG P25 system)

MED-1 RPT (463.0000, PL 94.8) which Baptist Main, Baptist Hamburg, St Joe Main, St Joe East, and UK Med Control all monitor for Jessamine and other out of county EMS agencies using UHF transporting to Metro Hospitals, but this is not always the case as most just call the ED. AMR/Rural Metro used to talk directly to UK on their own talkgroup on the ERS LCP system, then they moved to the MED-1 RPT, now they just call in via phone.

MED REPORT (VMED28) 155.34, PL 77.0 is used by agencies like Woodford, Anderson, Clark, etc for contacting UK Med Control. Inbound Aircraft also utilize this channel after contacting UK Flight Control on their respective air traffic channel to provide a patient report and keep the air traffic channel clear. Neither Baptist campus has a VHF radio on their ED console, just LFUCG, MED-1, and their internal LCP system. Unknown on the status of St Joe, they used to take VHF reports on 155.34, PL 92.5, but i haven't heard any traffic with that tone in some time.

Again, the majority of agencies just call ahead via cell phone. Bluegrass Hospital is 155.16, PL 77.0, but i haven't heard a med report to Bluegrass on that frequency in years.
