Following this thread with great interest!
I have a user that is using DMR on itinerant frequencies, Do I set up each frequency as a single trunk?
I have looked at the FCC information and they are licensed for 16 frequencies!
Ron
What user and/license?

Do you already have the DMR system created for them? If trying to use an OFT system, Discovery will only let you monitor one site (the single frequency) at a time.

For a prospective "new" DMR system (one not in the database), I may use one of two methods to get a starting point. I can program the channels conventionally, then let ProScan log activity on the frequencies to get an idea of which frequencies are used, color codes, and a sampling of the talkgroups. Or, program the frequencies into an OFT system, individual sites, and let ProScan collect the frequencies, color codes, and talkgroups that are in use.

For the x36HP & SDS series scanners, ProScan can give you a hint whether this is being used as a trunked system, or as DMR in a conventional mode.

Here in my dense metro area, the same Uhf frequency may be licensed to more than one entity, in some cases 6 to 8 licensees in my county at one time. The log helps look for clusters of talkgroups, on a frequency, that use the same color code. That comes into play when setting up a system, so that you can concentrate on one user, and not be distracted by others using the same frequency, but a different color code.

This is actually extremely useful, I have a proscan license and a 436 and a 325p2. I knew there was a way to do this, knowing from the licensing of the business and their feqs, right? However, there is at least 2-3 years ago, very little documentation on how to do so. Thank you. I never thought of using the PC logging.

I have my 325P2 connected to my laptop for monitoring, and my SDS200 is also being logged via ProScan on the laptop. My 536HP, and one of my 436HPs are logging, via ProScan, on my desktop PC.

The far right column in the ProScan log is labeled as "Digital Status", which gives you the system type the scanner is seeing. The column just before that is the system type as to how you have it programmed in the scanner.

For the SDS & x36HP scanners, the 'digital status' column is tracked. That's not the case on the 325P2. I'm reasonably sure that this is not the fault of ProScan. Rather, the output of the 325P2 does not include that data, so ProScan cannot display it for you. The CON indicates a MotoTRBO Connect trunked system; CAP, a Capacity Plus system. The entries labeled labeled as DMR, programmed as DMR One Frequency, are being used as conventional channels, in DMR mode. The One Frequency Trunked system type is used so that you can view, and/or specify, the color code & TGID seen. Using the OFT system is the only way, for Uniden scanners, where you can specify a slot & talkgroup on a conventional DMR channel. That's needed for users like some smaller counties or agencies where they use the same talkgroup for bith PD & FD, except that PD is always on Slot 1, with FD on Slot 2.

Click on my username in a post. One of the choices on the pop-up menu is "start conversation". That's the new name for what the older Forums software used to call 'send a PM'.

Can you link the FCC license info so we can take a look?

They are in NE Nebrsaska

Under Station Class, they're listing as Mobiles, but with 45 watt output. I would do a conventional search and see what shows in the display during a conversation. Cap+ program as MotoTRBO..DMR program as DMR One Frequency Trunk.

Don't think they work Sundays so will have some time to set up conventional search.
They have a base station antenna set up at their "lay-down" yard so should be able to
hear them (only six miles away). Don't think they know that the license is for mobiles only!

Just skimmed this thread, but make sure it is not encrypted or you will not hear it.
