I have windows 10, just bought this WS1065 and none of the software works for it, I also paid for 180-day member ship and it seems to be turning into feq that is listed free online without a paid service no new codes and as it seems nothing is working on this site nor the software I went through this whole website reading how to program my ws1065 with the PC cable and it won't work then I try to upload a *.cvs file and it shows it uploads but to where it's not my scanner because the software will do the same with the USB unplugged, it hangs when you try to retrieve the data from the scanner it does nothing any help would be appreciated. I live in Ohio, Van Wert.

This is what I got from Whistler a long time ago:

Please read the START HERE guide for setting up the scanner. We provided two websites for 3rd party PC software vendors to program the scanner shown in step 3 of the Start Here guide. The Start Here guide is packaged with the Users Manual. ( https://www.butel.nl/shop/us/whistler/26-arc500-basic-software.html or Download PSREdit500) Page 17 of the manual can be misleading as there is no approved software on www.RadioReference.com

We have a step by step program instructions for the PSRedit500 program here - Scanner User Guides.
Scroll to the bottom to see the software manual.

For ARC500 users, there is a user guide for this program located here - ARC500 User Guide - The RadioReference Wiki

In order for the software program to have access to the frequency database, you will have to become a Premium Member of radioreference.com. RadioReference Network Premium Subscription

NOTE: If the unit's PC/IF programming cable has a colored dot on the box that's in the cable, please read the bright colored insert that was packaged with the unit. This insert will give you instructions on how to properly configure the PC program to this cable.

If you want to program the unit manually, we have set up 2 easy Step-by-Step guides;

Conventional frequencies
Help Center & FAQs

Digital Trunking Systems

To find the frequencies to program, go to www.radioreference.com and click on the DATABASE button. Select the state and then the county. The first listings are conventional frequencies. At the bottom of the listing there is an All Trunked Radio Systems section. This lists the Digital trunking systems in that county.

Follow the steps outlined in the HELP pages and you will be scanning in no time.

Ok, I bought my ws1065 on april 21st it was used didn't come with the coding cable as I call it you may call it transfer cable but after a few weeks of downloading database files,etc and installing and nothing, resetting and reinstalling and still nothing I ordered the coding cable and bought the full version software and still nothing wasn't able to get it to even transfer then after 20 some minutes I finally got to use the database files to upload to the scanner but still didn't work I seen the codes in the memory of the scanner still nothing even selecting them so I factory reset it all and told myself if it doesn't work this time I am going to throw it out the window I don't know what I did but I uploaded the selected database file again and poooof it worked and now I leave the volume level at 1 because there is way to much radio chatter going on and it's too much for me so I have decided if my parents don't want it I am going to sell it as I am not that nosey of a person.

So if anyone is having problems and you own the software and transfer cable I should be able to help as I reset mine again and uploaded the codes again and it still worked and figured out what I was doing wrong.

You need to install the driver for the cable. You never told us what software you are using. If you are using ARC500, go to the Scanner tab and click on Install USB Driver. It is a generic driver which may or may not work depending upon the cable you have. The Whistler cable has its own driver.
