I wonder was the statewide for 911 center or for State Police

I wondered the same thing, simply because of the 9000 talkgroup. But Chad said he heard three or four counties checking in by county name. That doesn't sound like it would be WVSP. I'm still unsure about where to add this one. I'll defer to you Jeff. You might have a better idea of where it oughta go.

It reminded me of another DHSEM TG when I first saw it but Jefferson Co stated it was "Statewide S.O.S. They said "This is Jefferson Co to ???? Co on Statewide S.O.S. How Copy? I'm not sure if this TG something to do with a Statewide EMS agency or what. I see exactly where you guys are coming from since TG 9001 is SP Shinnston. Other than this test yesterday evening I haven't heard anyone else using it, I guess most 911 centers are monitoring it and only use it during an emergency or something? If I hear anything else I'll let you all know.

The only thoughts I have for now is to change Intersystem/WVOES Talkgroups to Intersystem/Statewide, From there we could place all the x9xx and any other statewide talkgroup into it. Like everyone else up for suggestions. Even the counties on here is able to talk from within others in the state.

I put it in under State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

This afternoon I caught a new one; TG 9000. I caught Jefferson Co testing on it and Harrison, Monongalia, and Mercer Co answered them. This TG was identified as "Statewide S.O.S.

Statewide SOS is for any user of the system to radio for help statewide. Several agencies monitor this talk group. So if your from Jefferson County and your in Jackson County, you put your radio on SOS and someone will answer you. Of course it's for emergency use only.

Hey thanks Matt for the reply! I know that we just started monitoring it a couple months back on our consoles but didn't know exactly what it was used for. I was glad to get a hit on it the other day while mobile listening. I see now that's a talkgroup that I don't want to accidentally key up while at work lol

Just an FYI,

a notice by the OEM of Mineral County was posted stating that 911 ops will begin testing Friday on the digital system. Units will be marking up and operations will be conducted on Tac channels.
