Caught another new TG this afternoon. TG 5929. Heard Fayette Co unit 911 contacting Fayette Co. and it was announced as "on IRP radio". Don't know if this is a regional TG or a Fayette Co. TG.

Hey Chad I've heard that one before, they was testing their radios in Scarbro WV( awhile back) I didn't have my scanner on cause of work, maybe this one will start being used more :) I think once that new 911 center is finished being built,I bet the IRP in Fayette County will open up.

In Hardy County, I'm hearing Mineral County law on TG 1607.

Hardy County is still on the old system.

Should be getting the Tac Channels too. as of now the way the OEM is doing it is all EMS calls are on Min Tac 4 and then they assign other calls to 1 threw 3.

Hello guys,
Been monitoring this thread on and off for a while now.
I live in South Williamson, Ky., across the river from Williamson, W.V. (Mingo Co). I have been listening to scanners forever and decided to go ahead and buy a Home Patrol scanner. I heard Mingo County is switching over soon. I guess I'll be ready.
They have installed a new tower at Mingo Co Airport (Williamson) and I have installed the freqs in the scanner but no activity yet, don't believe the repeater is active yet.
I can hear activity on the "Mountain View" repeater.
We have a Ham Radio repeater at Lenore, W.V. (Mining Company) near Williamson, and recently Mingo 911 has got permission to install new repeater equipment in the building. Anyway if I hear anything I'll post it on here.
Happy Monitoring.

Just now the entire shift marked up with a complaint about the IRP radios they use.
All officers said the radios turned themselves off and after 30 seconds or so the display said
"out of range". They have reported this before but were individual officers complaining.
Is there an explanation for this? Reason says all of the radios should not have the same problem at
the same time. Sounds like a computer booting up somewhere in the radio system. I did not hear
the problem reported by any other users other than Huntington PD.

Here, there and everywhere in WV
More like the HPD programmer fudged up the codeplug so the radios are not affiliating/roaming throughout the SIRN Cabell county towers properly..LMAO In reality P25 trunked is unlike convention systems, there are no fringe transmissions. You are either in range or out of range...

Huntington uses one tower, the others are at least 10 miles distant.
I admit that I am not knowledgeable of the the way this stuff works.
The east end units are in plain sight of the the tower in rotary park.
I will listen further.

I have also heard them on multiple occasions on the Milton and St Albans Sites. I'm like you though you'd think that they would only be affiliating with the Rotary Park Site due to the distance of the others. I like it though when it is broadcasted on the others, makes it easier for me to hear.

I was in Beckley today and noticed that I was not receiving the Ghent Site. I tried searching for an alternative CC but didn't find one. Was just curious was this site down today? The other Sites (Pax, Ansted, Kopperston) were working fine.

So I go and did out a old amp since the one I was using had burn up a month or 2 ago, Its the only way I can lock on Ghent and Kopperston from my home location and was not able to find them but was still able to hear a signal from Alderson and Ansted. McCommas from home is almost like hitting the lotto here and did not get anything from it. Unitrunker on Pax tower is showing Kopperston runing.

LINCOLN / SUMERCO # 206 Online

I was listening to Lincoln Co and heard that Sumerco could go online today, so started running tune search and bingo! there it was. I submitted it and now with all the Lincoln Co talk groups and wildcards I'm checking it out.
