With the heavy amount of talking on 5903,I get the assumption that they are doing some kind of EMS disaster training,I've been hearing them every day now. Also as we get nearer to the Boy Scouts thingie opening date,I believe more new talkgroups might be popping up,who knows Fayette county might finally bust the bubble and join in the SIRN fun.

I have been in and out today. I heard them on Pax and the new tower over in that area (2-037). Also got around today to get my Raleigh County feed up for Beckley again today.

Been hearing TG 4433 coming over the Mingo county site today. Not sure what it's all about. Some mention of air units and ground units. Similar traffic on Troop5 SP/Logan. Marijuana field bust?

I'm having a little issue with setting up my Uniden 396. I think its an issue with the Band Plans that I'm looking at on the RR site.

Custom Uniden Frequency Tables:
Table 1:
Base: 452.0000
Space: 12.5
Offset: 380

Table 2:
Base: 460.0000
Space: 12.5
Offset: 570

I can see where I can add the Band Plans as a APCO25 but I don't see where you can set the offset.

If this is in the wrong thread please advise but I figured this was the best for support.

Thanks!!

On the IRP with 396 you will not enter the offset. Setup as a motorola and a P25 system. Enter your freq. make sure you have TG enter or have it set on search and that is it.

Guys that worked perfect! Thanks alot - I guess I didn't wait for enough traffic to hear it. Can you answer the question as to why you do not or cannot enter the offset on this scanner? I have seen other places where you are supposed to enter an offset but when I program it I could never found it...always just brushed it under the rug but I would like to know a little more about it if you could explain it in a short version.

Thanks again!

On the IRP the control channel provides all the info. Once program and the scanner had locked onto the data channel you can go thru the settings and see the offset. Again this is set by the data channel.

If you come across a motorola type 2, like the Federal DOC in this area you will have to set the offset. Its not provided in the data stream.

Well Bert I just got home and I see your still up. Today they had something BIG at the Capital and tonight they had fireworks, I listened to TG 6905 all day and night, it was some kind of security for this shindig. I just checked my counts and I had over 100 hits on it today. Kan Co uses 6120, 6150, 6121 alot. St.Albans and Nitro are full time on 6122 and 6130. So.Chas Fire is fulltime on 6136. So.Chas uses 6118 and 6115 some. Dunbar PD uses there 2 6114 to BS 0n. So yes there is pretty good activity on the IRP. WVSP keeps 9011 hot too.

Jess you just answered one of my questions as well. I was also going to ask you about Chas & S Chas. I see that S Chas has went back to VHF (I noticed a couple wks ago). I also was going to ask you about Chas. So far is the only active police TG the traffic division? (I guess 159.150 is still the primary freq) I see there are a lot of other TGs listed but I don't hear anything from them.

Hmm,either Malden is down,or I must've fiddled too much with something on my scanner.I usually listen to all those talkgroups either day or night. Thanks Jess for the help!
