Hearing Tyler Co. on WV State EOC doing a drill and Mercer Co. on WV Health doing a drill also.

I was hearing this as well while at work today. Even heard my home county (Webster) contact State EOC for a radio check (sounded good).

Jess nice to hear a lot more Kan Co agencies switching over to the SIRN. It's really coming along. By the way it's looking here the Cottle SIRN Site should be online any day now.

Cottle SIRN

Chad do you think Cottle will be too far for me to reach??

Possibly Bert but I know you are in a very good location for listening. If you're picking up the SIRN sites and other activity from Kanawha Co. you should be able to hear the Cottle Site. I have a feeling that the 911 Center's radios will be affiliating with the Cottle Site but most will still be affiliated with the Gauley Site. You should still be able to hear the Nicholas activity. Between the Gauley, Cottle, and the Elmira/Sutton Sites we will have most of the county covered.

Yes I will be very happy when they turn it on. I miss hearing the State Police traffic from home.

Hardy County coming to SIRN

Understand from a Hardy County employee that the county will begin using SIRN later this summer. Not sure to what extent, but I am in the county and wil report when I hear it. The Moorefield newspaper reported last year that the radios were on hand and were being programmed. The Moorefield site has been up and running for about a year, carrying out-of-county traffic.

Mason County EMS on SIRN?

I suspect that the Mason County EMS may be using SIRN now, but if so, I don't know the talkgroup. At least one of their conventional frequencies appears to be used just for paging now. People might want to keep this in mind if you see a new, previously unidentified talkgroup. Some of the ambulance unit numbers are 116, 117, 129, 228, 556, and 557.

Kenna Site

I got some interesting information while running EVAC this weekend. Kenna is set up for SIRN, but needs some businesses to put their repeaters on the tower to meet the requirements on how these sites are set up. It's not to far from going online.

We already know Buckhannon is online because I heard it recently and submitted the data to the DB.

IF anybody lives in / near Ferrellsburg, please see if 460.3875 active with a control channel. If it is, please get as much info as you can (zone, site id -- although I already know what they will be), site neighbors, alternate control channel, etc.

If Ferrellsburg isn't online yet, it probably will be soon.

I was catching this one some today as well while out mobile (I wonder what large event is going on locally). I also caught TG 6929 off the Elmira Site this morning. I think it may be Braxton Co 911. I'll have to catch it some more when it's active to make 100% sure.

Oh Cool Bert! I wish that I could've been listening in the field during those 2 weeks myself. I know there were many TG's that we were using that I hadn't found yet (Especially the ones for other 911 centers)
But I was needed at work so I was only able to catch some radio ID's.

Went through a lot of batteries when the power was off mainly because I wanted to know where the AEP guys were when they was *sometimes* in the Oak Hill/Fayetteville area, but having all those other talkgroups popup was a nice bonus for me :p I do think a nice sized generator is in the cards for me(If only the state could give me the funds to buy a whole house generator :p). I don't like being caught with my pants down concerning a week or longer power outage again :p
